The origin took the transmitter SchauTV as a regional transmitter BKF (Burgenländisches cable television). The East-Austria-heavy program was produced by TV studios in Eisenstadt. In February 2012, the broadcasting company started under the name SchauTV. The transmitter is since August 2018 in the possession of the KURIER media house.
The cross-media offer of the KURIER will be expanded with the takeover of SchauTV, thereby furthering the strategic expansion of the media company.
To extend the media offer of the courier, the print offer with moving image content in the online area have already been extended over longer periods of time. In the summer of 2017, the development of a separate channel was intensively considered and ETAS High-Tech Systems GmbH was selected for the implementation of the overall project. The project manager, Werner Stolarz, had in his own adapted rooms together with ETAS the challenge to install technology including Panasonic PTZ cameras, Newtek TC1 Tricaster, a workflow system from Cinegy, the entire studio lighting and the air conditioning in to obscure the decoration of the studio so that it could be integrated into the overall studio image. The program is transmitted via the encoder of the ETAS to the ORS and is therefore receivable via antenna, cable and satellite HD-capable.
