The Australian manufacturer Atomos is now adding another model to its external recorders: Atomos Ninja V 4K. He draws with 10-bit Apple ProRes or Avid DNx. Thus, Atomos is the only manufacturer that can recreate the Nikon log.
So far, full-format cams in the 4K output could only be output in 8-bit signals. The new Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7 are full-format system cameras that output a 10-bit 4K N-Log signal – and the new Atomos Ninja V 4K HDR field recorder can record and display this HDR image as well.
The new Ninja V 4K combines a field recorder and an outdoor monitor in a portable device. It is not only handy, but also full of powerful features:
Records up to 4K 60p 10-bit HDR resolution, real-time 10+ stop dynamic range, intuitive touch-screen display and high-quality audio components
Ninja V 4K has a 5-inch display and should appeal to recreational filmmakers as well as professional cameramen.
The super feature: Atomos gives a brightness of 1000 nits, which meets the requirements for HDR! Thus, the display displays are clearly visible even in sunlight. Furthermore, the monitor can be color-calibrated.
In principle, the new Atomos Ninja V 4K video recorder is a handier version of the Atomos Shogun Inferno. The Ninja V is a lot more compact and also very light, so that it fits very well to compact system cameras.
Ninja V 4K will be delivered from the third quarter for € 827.
Record like a Ninja with the Atomos Ninja V!
